1) ESCEO-AgNovos Healthcare Young Investigator Award

The WCO-IOF-ESCEO Congress 2018 is, once again, very proud to announce that AgNovos Healthcare will support the Young Investigator Awards.

The value of each award will be 2.000 euros.

Requirements:

  • To be born after January 1, 1980.
  • To attend the WCO-IOF-ESCEO Congress 2018 in Krakow, Poland on April 19-22, 2018.
  • To submit an abstract which is related to bone strength, bone quality, falls risk, primary or secondary fracture prevention, multi-disciplinary post-fracture care or imaging techniques of the proximal femur, through the official website (www.wco-iof-esceo.org) and, before the deadline of January 29, 2018.
  • To be citizen or resident from:

2) ESCEO-IOF YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARDS

The ESCEO-IOF Young Investigator Awards are given to young investigators for their contributions in the field of bone and mineral research.

Twenty awards of 1000€ each will be distributed at the WCO-IOF-ESCEO Annual Meeting.

Requirements:

  • To be less than 45 years old
  • To submit an abstract and be the first or presenting author of this abstract
  • To be present at the award ceremony

Deadline:
Abstracts can be submitted from October 1, 2017 to January 29, 2018 on abstracts.wco-iof-esceo.org.

Recipients will be selected based on their abstracts by the ESCEO Scientific Advisory Board during the last week of February 2018 and notice will be provided no later than February 28, 2018.

3) 2018 ESCEO-Eli Lilly Scholarships

The WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2018 is, once again, very proud to announce that the ESCEO-Health Care Provide Scholarships will be supported by Eli Lilly.

Value of the scholarships

  • Free registration to the WCO-IOF-ESCEO Congress 2018 in Krakow
  • 1.000 USD (If the applicant did not submit any abstract to the WCO18 Congress)
  • 1.500 USD (If the applicant submitted an abstract as first author to the WCO18 Congress)

Free registration (value 975 euros) will be granted to applicants ranked between 100 and 300.

Requirements

  • Prove less than 10 years since the completion of the highest degree
  • Recipients will attend the WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2018 Congress in Krakow on April 19-22, 2018
  • Recipients are physicians with a special interest (trained or in training) in metabolic bone diseases and/or musculoskeletal disorders
  • Recipients must attend the Awards Cocktail reception on Saturday April 21, 2018 from 18h30 to 19h30. (Venue will be confirmed later)
  • Recipients are citizen or residents of the following countries :

Scholarships recipients will be selected from February 28, 2018 and notice will be provided no later than March 9, 2018.

The Scholarships will be presented during the WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2018 Congress on Saturday April 21, 2018 from 18h30 to 19h30 (exact venue to be confirmed later)

Failure to attend the reception will result in the cancellation of the Scholarship (no exception will be granted).

4) ESCEO-IOF-ERAB Scholarship

This new award co-funded by the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases (ESCEO), the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and The European Foundation for Alcohol Research (ERAB) is offered for the World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases (WCO-IOF-ESCEO Congress) 2018 in Krakow, Poland.

This will enable a PhD or Post doc student working on the impact of alcohol consumption on osteoporosis and/or the risk of fragility fracture to attend the World’s Leading Clinical Conference on Bone, Joint and Muscle Health.

5) ESCEO-IBSA Young Investigator Award

The ESCEO-IBSA Young Investigator Award, worth 1000 euros, will be distributed to a young investigator for his/her contribution in the field of osteoarthritis during the WCO-IOF-ESCEO Annual Meeting.

Requirements:

  • To be less than 45 years old
  • To submit an abstract in the field of osteoarthritis and be the first or presenting author of this abstract
  • To be present at the Award Ceremony on April 21, 2018 (Exact time and venue to be confirmed later)

Failure to attend the reception will result in the cancellation of the travel grant (no exception will be granted).

Deadlines:

  • Abstracts can be submitted from October 1, 2017 to January 29, 2018 on abstracts.wco-iof-esceo.org.
  • The recipient will be selected based on his/her abstract by the ESCEO Scientific Advisory Board during the last week of February 2018 and notice will be provided no later than February 28, 2018.

6) ESCEO-IBSA Best Oral Presentation Award

Submit your abstract in the field of Osteoarthritis to the WCO-IOF-ESCEO Congress in Krakow to have your work selected for Oral Presentation and seize the opportunity to win the ESCEO-IBSA Best Oral Presentation Award worth 1000 euros.

7) IOF President's Award

The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) President's Award honour IOF members from different regions of the world who have made a significant and unstinting contribution to the advancement of the work of the IOF, through furthering one or more of the mission statements and/or goals of the Foundation. Recipients are selected by the IOF President, with the approval of the IOF Executive Committee.

8) IOF Medal of Achievement

The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) Medal of Achievement honours individual researchers who have significantly advanced the field of osteoporosis through their original and outstanding scientific contributions. The award underlines important aspects of IOF's mission - to increase understanding and awareness of osteoporosis and to promote medical innovation. The IOF Medal of Achievement, which includes CHF 1500 in prize money, is presented every year during the WCO-IOF-ESCEO congress. Candidates are nominated by members of IOF's Committee of Scientific Advisors (CSA) and the winner selected by the Chair of the CSA with the approval of the IOF Executive Committee.

9) IOF Olof Johnell Science Award

The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) Olof Johnell Science Award, named in honour of the late Professor Olof Johnell is awarded every year during the WCO-IOF-ESCEO congress. The Award honours an individual who has contributed to the field of osteoporosis in a scientific or policy implementation area, worldwide. The award winner also receives CHF 1500 in prize money. The candidates will be nominated by IOF members and the winner chosen by the IOF Board.

10) IOF Committee of National Societies Award

The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) Committee of National Societies Medal honours an individual who has made an important contribution to IOFs Committee of National Societies (CNS) through active participation in CNS activities and by expanding IOF's message and outreach in his/her country. An IOF Committee selects the winner, with the approval of the IOF Executive Committee.

11) ESCEO-IOF Pierre Meunier Young Scientist Award

The « IOF-ESCEO Pierre Meunier Young Scientist Award » is intended to reward the work of a young researcher, who has already demonstrated his/her scientific merits without having yet reached a prominent academic position.
Numerous awards are dedicated to young promising scientists and other honor the "Masters and Mentors" for their overall work. Nevertheless, there is in between a gap, in the recognition of those who represent the next generation of leaders.

12) 2018 ESCEO Medal of Excellence

The « ESCEO Medal of Excellence » is a prize intended to honor and reward an outstanding contribution to the field of bone, joint and muscle from an established researcher.

13) ESCEO-IOF Herbert Fleisch Medal

The « ESCEO-IOF Herbert Fleisch Medal » is intended to reward a researcher who has made outstanding and innovative contribution in basic or translational science. The award is named in honor of Herbert Fleisch, a renowned researcher whose pioneering work has greatly influenced the understanding of bone and mineral metabolism.
