WORLD CONGRESS ON OSTEOPOROSIS, OSTEOARTHRITIS AND MUSCULOSKELETAL DISEASES

The World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases will take place from April 19 to April 22, 2018 in the beautiful city of Krakow, Poland.

The members of the Committee of Scientific Advisors of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis (ESCEO) are developing a very exciting Congress’ scientific programme that will bring together the world’s best in the field of musculoskeletal health and disease.

We really hope to welcome you in Krakow, Poland and that this Congress will move the field one step forward on all fronts; from new understanding of bone metabolism and pathology, to new strategies and options in prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

The city of Krakow offers a most convenient and pleasant setting for international congresses. We hope that you will also take the opportunity to explore its many attractions !

The congress chairmen are honoured to announce that 1.513 abstracts were submitted for this 2018 edition of the WCO-IOF-ESCEO! This extraordinary number of abstracts is the largest ever recorded since the beginning of the Congress.

The 17th edition of the WCO-IOF-ESCEO Congress beat all records!

  • 4082 delegates took part in the largest event in the field of osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, frailty and sarcopenia.
  • The Scientific Advisory Committee, co-chaired by Professor René Rizzoli and Professor Cyrus Cooper, had an extremely difficult task, to select oral presentations, among 1436 submitted abstracts of the highest quality.
  • 601 Awards were distributed during the congress.

Accreditations

EUROPEAN ACCREDITATION

The WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2018 Krakow Congress has been granted 16 European CME credits (ECMEC) by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).

AMERICAN ACCREDITATION

EACCME credits can be converted to AMA credits for American delegates.

BELGIAN ACCREDITATION

The WCO-IOF-ESCEO Krakow 2018 Congress was granted:
2 Belgian CME credits (INAMI/RIZIV) under the numbers 17025723 (CP 1), 17025726 (CP 1), in category 6 “Ethics & Economy” and 12 Belgian CME credits under the number 18001161 in category 4 "International meeting".
